I just perused Muncy's site and they're selling new entry level R-13/nickels for
$1,600. Geez, that price can be hazardous to the old checkbook. <:-))

It's the player that makes the music, not the clarinet

Anon--

Yes, but it sounds a lot better with a clarinet.

Mindy--

Good for you. Keep that excitement!

Wonderful Mindy. My son's playing leapt forward when he got a nice clarinet (used R 13). Mine too. Fighting a bad instrument is not worth it, if you can still feed yourself after you get the bill.

I'll say again. Re: the player making the music and instrument being unimportant.
This is why all symphony players use Bundy clarinets with Rico reeds, or even popsicle sticks. I hear rubber band ligs are just as good as any.

This might be an informative article when selecting a new clarinet.

So I'll let you hum K.622.

Me, I'll use the clarinet.

I just sold my R-13, so I'm going through a little withdrawl.

Mindy,

Keep us informed on your trial time of your r-13's and let us know the deal you get. I'm looking to get a Prestige R-13 or Prestige RC in about 6 months.

thats awsome mindy.! i got a new clari about 4 months ago. some advice for the first day your trials arrive....i was so anxious to try them out i spent hours playing each one the very first nite i had them. the following day i was exhausted and my lip was so sore i could not really play and lost some trial time while i regained my strenth! take your time. also, my first impressions entirely changed by the time i was done testing. if you like one more than the others its easy to put the others aside and just play that one but i would suggest you give those others a little more testing time and you might find you like them or 1 better in the end.
best of luck!

You'll wonder how you ever got along without one once you find the one for you.
Good Luck!

Hey !
Spend a long time trying out the R13... I spent about 6 hours, and went through about 15 of them before I found the right one - It's soo worth it though :) Enjoy and Congrats !!
