 Penn *Los Angeles* mouthpiece
Author: Mike Blinn

Hello all,

Does anyone know anything about this brand? Penn may have been a music store in California that imported mouthpieces and sold them under their own name. I have a bass clarinet mouthpiece with that name that has been overhauled and plays very well.

It came from Coast Wholesale Music, I believe, east of downtown Los Angeles, now out of business. My flute teacher, Ben Kanter, went there in 1958 to pick out a flute and piccolo for me. The Penn brand seemed to be a student brand.
