I've been using a Behn bass clarinet mouthpiece for a couple of years now and
it continues to exceed expectations. His unique and subtle design well suits the more angled bass clarinet neck of a Buffet. And as others have often mentioned he's very approachable and quick to respond to any and all inquiries.
I've also compared it to a number of other well made custom BC mouthpieces,
all excellent and highly regarded, but the Behn seems, for my purposes, to add that bit of extra dimension to its' ease of playing, intonation as well as projection whether in a large or small ensemble.

Brad’s bass clarinet mouthpieces are terrific, his Bb pieces are fantastic.
I played and worked with the four different Bb chambers for a while and liked the D chamber the best. I did pass them around to the best players around the valley.
The local college prof liked the A chamber, the local symphony principal liked the D and one of the teachers at Temple liked the C chamber.
They have varied amounts of resistance, the tone is very pretty with each chamber, and I have never ever played any mouthpiece that allowed me to float up to high C (yep, 5 ledger lines up there) with such ease. The consistency from piece to piece was incredible, I had two sets of the four chambers and two extra D chambers to compare, his workmanship is remarkable.
One of those sets is now with Chris and Karen Di Santo near Philly so they can also test each chamber, so far they seem to like the D as well. I’m not sure I’ll get them all back....Chris really liked the D!
