 alteiri clarinet gig bags

Anyone has any experience of the Alteiri bass cl gig bag?

I own a pair of Rossi's and the case is, well, doing my head in (or back). I cannot find anywhere i can get a case from that houses Rossi's, other than having one made from Wiseman (which will be heavy and defeating the object, or to have a gig bag made from alteri.

If anyone can help, would be appreciated.

A friend of mine had one made for his Buffet. Very study, well balanced on the back...........a good investment.

I personally despise the Wiseman case........can't keep it open, clumsy putting the sections in and taking them out. Imagine a clumsy arrow quiver that weighs too much.

Why not ask Donna Altieri to make up a case for you for your Rossis with the same "engineering" as the bass clarinet bag.

She's made several custom items for me, including a case cover for a set of Rossis, and the prices were VERY reasonable.

She's on it ;)

I was just a little weary of it being a 'gig bag', but i'm sure she will make sure it is well padded and protective of my precious beasts!

Just re what Paul wrote, I have to say my Wiseman case doesn't have the problem of keeping it open. I assume he meant that if you put it open on the floor, it rolls itself half closed, or something like that. Mine doesn't do that. I agree that it takes a few more seconds to put the clarinet parts in and take them out, compared with a "regular" case. The Wiseman isn't light but they have a new version that is much lighter (haven't tried it). It does save a lot of hassle by carrying just one case instead of two. Though if that wasn't my main reason to have one, I probably would get another case.

Dear Stuart,
I purchased an Alteiri bag for my Rossi double case. It is great. I did call them first and they took down all of the pertinent dimensions of the case, but I think concluded that thier stock bass clarinet case was just the right size. So give them a call.

Corey-
When you say you have a alteiri bag for your Rossi double clarinet case , do you mean a cover for the case, or do you mean an actual case for the clarinets?

I have just ordered from Donna, but she's given me very little detail other than it will be similar to the bass clarinet and bassin gig bag. Both the insides of theses cases look very different to me with regards to how the joints go in the case. The bass clarinet one looks like you slip them into pockets and the bassin one looks like the foam is moulded around the joints.

If you have a case, Corey- could you describe it for me?

I was in two mInds- as I also discovered that Marcus Bona also makes cases for ROSSI clarinets.....

Thanks Stuart
