If you get a mouthpiece with a more closed tip, you will need to go to a harder reed. On the Vandoren B45, the maker recommends that the equivalent of a Vandoren 2.5 to 3.5 reed be used (in other brands, that would be about a range of 3 to 4).
There's lots of good mouthpieces. I'm fond of the 5RV myself for a slightly more closed tip. Just be aware that mouthpieces like this will not have the volume of a more open mouthpiece.
Personally I believe that you could get the sound you seek out of the B45 if you work at it. It may require more embouchure development, breath support development, or a harder reed or a combination of these. It may be easier though on a mouthpiece with a more closed tip.
