Hello all,
I know of two of you who play the Mazzeo clarinet currently. I would like to know how many Mazzeo players there are starting with this board - those individuals who play the them as their primary instrument(s).
I'll start - I play Selmer Mazzeo model 10 - B-flat & A clarinets that I hand picked from the Selmer factory in Elkhart, Indiana in the early 70's.
These clarinets continue to serve me well and I have never had any problems with them whatsoever. I would never change.
Is there anybody else out there ?

(I have one (a Bundy), but it's not my primary instrument. And as I'm an "all fingers down" player I un-Mazzeo-ed it)

Not as primary - but then I don't have a primary horn. Like you I have a Selmer 10 Mazzeo. Somewhere I picked up a Signet Special Mazzeo. Never had a moments regret about either.

I bought a Bundy Mazzeo in need of a lot of TLC a couple of months back. After a repad and recork it now plays well, and I'm working on getting my fingers around it. I downloaded a fingering chart from the net, which doesn't seem to correspond very well with the actual fingering of the clarinet. It works fine if I play it as a straight Boehm, but not all of the Mazzeo fingerings seem to work.

Hey Gene,
I have a Mazzeo but do not play it often. As a person who uses the "keep the right hand on when going down and up over the break" getting a Bb4 instead of an A4 is a pain.
The covered thumb hole is a great idea for beginners.
