There is many low price clarinet, most of them is for student.
I want to talk about non-wood material (maybe hard rubber or ebonite)
Like Ridenour Clarinet.

Maybe do you know what is the low price clarinet beside Ridenour clarinet, but has good quality??

How about Ridenour Clarinet?

Lots of people like the Ridenour Clarinet. And if you search this board for information about it, there are some pro's who use it exclusively. I'm in an army band, and given the choice between the Buffet R13 Prestige I was issued, the R13 Greenline which is our "outside" horn, and my personal Ridenour, I'd use my Ridenour.

You can also search for a "Forte" clarinet, I've read some good reviews of a "resonite" clarinet (forget the brand), the R13 Greenline is considered a non-wood material, Stephen Fox will make a custom clarinet out of Delrin, and I seem to remember a few companies still making new metal clarinets (I thought Howarth had a titanium clarinet and Orsi-Weir had a metal clarinet....) but I can't seem to find them now.

You can search this board for information on any of those, and you'll find threads which will compare them to professional instruments, and you will also find professionals and repair technicians weigh in their opinions on those clarinets.

Enjoy the board!

Alexi

I heard the Leblanc's Backun-Bliss model is pretty good too. I never played one though.

I have a greenline R13, plays quite well. Everything is just like the regular R13.

Winders:-,

Here's the URL for Ridenour Clarinet:

http://www.ridenourclarinetproducts.com/

Here's a comment section on them:

http://www.ridenourclarinetproducts.com/clarinetcomments.html

There's all kind of information that you can access about these clarinets off of their main web page.

Hope that this helps.

There seems to be some negative press around the key work of the Ridenour Lyrique - from someone who has one, is this valid?

It's slightly diffferent from a Buffet. The finishing is a tad rougher on mine... I can see some machining marks on the upper joint side trill keys, but it plays just fine. A couple of folks I know made comments about the "jump" trill keys looking different, but that's about it. Functionally, I don't have any problems with the keywork.

For less than US $1000, it was a great buy! I use it regularly, both indoors and outside for concerts, and it never lets me down.
