Reissiger's use of "chalumeau" in op. 146

Hi!

I'm playing Reissiger's Fantasie, op. 146. At the beginning of the 2nd variation (I think), the word "chalumeau" is printed. Does anyone know why Reissiger or the editor would have added this? I've never seen this added as an instruction, especially since the part is not to be played in the chalumeau register. Thanks for your help!

I don't know the piece, but it's probably an instruction to play an octave lower on the repeat.
