 Beechly Mouthpiece
Author: Bob Arney

On my previous "newby" question I neglected to mention that I bought this package in England and it came with a "Beechly" mouthpiece, ligature and cap.White plastic with a black diamond bite aream numbered 3S and 2328. (The cork has perished). I can't seem to find out anything about them. Blows freely and has (for my ancient ear) a good rich dark tone.

Of course we accept "newbies" Bob
A , partic. if they have a highly interesting question, so as to excite many of us to reply!!! Sure sounds like a mixed group of pieces, a true "melange", prob. [to me] the most important will be the upper and lower joints, if both are Buffets, so I'll see what Dee and Mark etc have to say, and will prob. jump back in later. Velly interesting, Don

I've never heard of Beechly. BUT, that doesn't deny it's existence. Only, *my* limited experience. NOW, I have heard of BeechLER. Can't say I can comment much on it. Can't remember where I ran across the name ... probably in one of the (many) catalogues. Good luck. mw

Mark, thank you. I took another look at it and it might well be Beechler, with the "r" extended downward like a "y." Any comments on this? The cork on it has perished. I am getting it recorked, and sending the clarinet of to be repadded, aligned, overhauled, recorked, cleaned, etc, (while my wife is mumbling "toys for the boys") and hope to report on this in about a month maybe earlier?
