"Doubler" Teacher in the Seattle Area?
Author: kfrank1

Can anyone recommend a teacher in the Seattle area for sax, clarinet and flute? I just purchased a bass clarinet and would like to get a good sound, but at the same time it would be great if he/she could help with the other horns. A Jazz teacher would be my preference, since that is what I mainly play, but I would also consider Classical, etc. Thanks.

I don't know of any off the bat, but it might help to post this thread on the Doublers BBoard located on this site. Someone there may be able to help as well.

Best of Luck!!!
Clayton

Ray Guyll working out of the Redmond Mills Music shop has a great rep. It can be challenging getting a slot though.

you want to contact jim norton. he's an amazing double originally from the San Francisco area. he lives in seattle now and has been doing union work around town. he has a wealth of experience from show tours to improvising and also performing in the grammy-nominated asian-american orhestra with john jang. if you email me, i can send you his contact info.

I sent you email woodwind650. Thanks for the name.

Thanks Gandalfe about Ray Guyll. On the Mills Music web site I see he is listed under sax and clarinet. I guess I could call to find out, but does he also play/teach flute?
