This is probably the most amusing scam e-mail I've recieved (copied below). I should note that I do not live in Australia. Taking up this job offer would mean a long commute:

Hello Teacher,
Good day to you.My name is mark willams based in london. My son(16years of age)will be coming to Australia for a 3(Two) month holiday but will stay with my elder sister. While he his there,i want him to attend your teaching class.I want you to e-mail me the modality of the programme,rate/hr,number of hours a day, your location ,duration of the lesson and other things necessary for a smooth learning. Please get back to me at {EMAIL DELETED}asap.
mark willams.

I'm tempted to reply but I'm sure it could subject me to more scam/spam.

I think we all get these ... I've asked for $800/hr and the 'father' was most agreeable ...

"I'm tempted to reply but I'm sure it could subject me to more scam/spam."

Considering how they mix their numbers and words up does raise a tiny element of suspicion there - "3(Two)" - now, I'm not exactly known for my grasp of mathematics by any means, but I do know the difference between the figure '3' and the word 'two'.

Next they will want to send you a check in excess of the amount you charge, and have you send the excess back.....then the check you got bounces and they have the money you sent them.

or

They will want to wire the funds, thus obtaining access to your account in hopes of hacking into it.

Coming to Australia? He told me his son was coming here to Corpus Christi.

That kid gets around!
