 Beth Custer and Clarinet Thing

Have you heard Beth and her crew of Bay Area multi-clarinetists do their thing on the CD Agony Pipes and Misery Sticks? Check 'em out!

Would you like to hear them live? I sure would, and I'm trying to hook them up with a great Minneapolis venue, the Cedar Cultural Center. It's a fair-sized yet intimate wood-floored hall with comfortable folding chairs, where people go to really listen to great music, up close and personal.

Beth and her band of stick-singers would like to arrange a Midwest tour, and she has asked for my help in suggesting venues. She'll make the arrangements, if I can get contact info for her.

Any ideas? Please reply here, or directly to me at the address behind my "Low_Reed" nom-de-tune above.

Disclaimer: The "only" compensation I'll get out of any arrangements made is aural and spiritual uplifting. Who could ask for anything more?

Thanks!
Bruce

Good Luck to them.

This is an excellent group, an assemblage of talents full of good humor who clearly enjoy the unique music they share. Custer's work as a composer leans toward the avant garde, but this group's repertoire draws (loosely) on more established genres. At their performances I have particularly enjoyed the reactions of the younger clarinet students in the audience - they must feel a newfound pride in their instrument when they see the possibilities.
