 Clarinet and Synthesizer Effects

Has anyone experimented with synthesizer effects such as the products made by Moog?---for example---a clarinet can be played into a microphone, which can then be run through the synthesizer. The resulting sounds can be modulated/filtered, etc.

Yes -- into a sampler, through effects boxes, using a MIDI pitch rider, etc. Not hard and can provide some interesting results.
