I'm a do-it-yourselfer, and I have had great success using
sheet cork and contact cement.
1. Remove old cork and glue with single edge razor blade being careful not to cut into wood (or plastic)
2. Cut strip of cork to width of groove in tenon.
3. Cut bevel on one end of strip.
4. Coat strip and tenon groove with cement; allow to dry.
5. Start strip bevel side up and wrap around tenon.
6. Coat bevel with a little cement.
7. Finish wrapping cork and allow to set.
8. Trim cork and sand to fit.
