 Barrels

Has anybody ever heard or tried out a click barrel. They can supposedly get longer and shorter. Would anyone recommend it for marching band? What kind of tone does it produce?

I have never actually heard anyone play a click barrel, but the instuctor I had at music camp when asked about one said that she thought that they sounded terrible. Hope this helps!

I played on my teacher's click for a while last year before I bought my Scott 68mm. I still had to pull out after fully extending the thing because I always played sharp. Anyways, I didn't care much for the sound, but it had to be tolerated for tuning purposes. I'm not sure if I would recommend it. If you find that you are playing sharp, maybe you should try a different mpc/barrel combo like I did. I'm playing a Scott 36108 mpc with one of his 68mm, and I'm getting a better sound than ever before while staying in tune. Try several combinations out before you decide.
