I am very likely to be moving from England to Flagstaff,Arizona within the next 18 months any advice on caring for my Yamaha CS-V in the different humidity and greater seasonal fluctuations in temperature would be much appreciated.

"It's a dry heat."

Sorry, just an old weather cliche here, especially applicable to Arizona. Not sure if Flagstaff applies. Still, I would prepare for a dry climate (current humidity is 54%). It's not a desert like Phoenix. It has forests and mountains. The seasons are distinct.

Check the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce site if you haven't already -- www.flagstaffchamber.org

Here's a little piece of advice for dealing with very dry conditions. From a florist's shop optain a small piece of the green sponge material they use to make flower bouquets. Place it in a photo canister, add water and pierce a few holes in the lid with a needle. Keep this in your case, and you will have constant humidity for a couple of weeks or more.

Watch out for wandering elk on the freeway at night. I saw a bashed in auto from an elk accident. There is snow in Flagstaff and some heat in the summer but not at all like Phoenix. It is probably quite dry, 20 to50% RH. Good luck!!

Do be advised that in moving to Flagstaff, you will be giving up the delightful warmth of the English winter. Flagstaff is quite high in altitude, and it does get mighty cold in midwinter. The very pleasant summers, however, make up for that. And the clarity of the atmosphere is great.

Welcome to the US, and do enjoy Flagstaff.

Yes, at least it's a dry heat. Down in South Carolina, humidity is 80-95% most of the time. So just in case anybody wants to visit, be prepared for hot and humid.
