I read somewhere that at one time the head of Yamaha sent his son abroad to countries like the US to learn their instrument manufacturing techniques. However the young man became enamoured of motorcyles and took that technology home instead! The father was a bit annoyed to say the least but they were quite successful with motorcyles.
