A little over a month or so ago, there was a thread about music notation software. I announced that I would be attending a seminar this week on Sibelius and would give a report. I have worked with Music Writer Plus, Finale, and Cake Walk Home Studio. So far I can report that Sibelius is much more "musician" friendly and very intuitive. After the first day I can write music in full band score, complete with dynamics, tempo changes, etc. and complete it in a lot less time than the other programs. It also comes with a scanning program to place notes in a midi file directly. What a time saver if you need a part and don't have an original left. You can scan in the score and extract, and print the part in less than 10 minutes. I was going to wait until the week was over to give a report but I can tell its a winner!
