I have a Marigaux S200 clarinet (for sale, by the way) which I bought new about six years ago. The clarinet is "exotic" in this country because SML/Marigaux has made clarinets (in relatively small numbers) for many years, but never really imported them to the US. In this country. Marigaux is mainly known for their double-reed instruments, especially their English horn which is considered by many to be the best in the world. In the opinion of most people who've tried them (myself included), the Marigaux is quite comparable to the top-line Buffets, Selmers, and Leblancs in workmanship and playing. Marigaux also makes some very well-regarded saxophones, which were marketed back in the 70-s or 80's (I think) by King as "King-Marigaux". I've been extremely happy with my own Marigaux, but circumstances force me to sell it and live with a less-expensive clarinet for the time being.
