I have always dreamed of performing. I would really like to get my masters in the Julliard school any advice on what it takes to get there?

don't forget you have to know the right people, be in the right place at the right time, be willing to bribe the administration if you're not good enough, and most of all, be willing to give up your love of the instrument and music itself for the sake of winning at all costs and making your sole focus in life to beat everybody around you, no matter what it takes.
If you want a real musical education, there are much better schools than the Jailyard. Look around...there's Peabody, Curtis, Eastman, NEC, MSM, Mannes, Boston Conservatory, SFCM....don't bank your whole future on Juilliard. It will let you down and destroy you.
Good luck.

To go to Juilliard, you have to be one of the best at the auditions. I suggest you try and get to a student recital and see how you compare.

JOOC, probably a stupid question, but does Juilliard offer anything for composition? I'm looking to be a composer.
Perhaps the competition will be less if I'm doing that.
Or does Juilliard even offer classes for such?

David:
Yes, Juilliard does have a composition department. You might check their website for the names of the faculty and/or entrance requirements.

Do a smart thing and see how many graduates have jobs from these schools. If I were looking for a graduate school this year(although next I will!) I would see which teachers are placing people in orchestras. Don't be fooled by a name. Many schools produce students on one instrument these days but not another. The string players at the Juilliard School are phenominal. The clarinet students are probably employed at Tower Records...yes, the one right there near Lincoln Center! Give a lot of consideration to Yehuda Gilad at USC. I have met MANY students of his who play professionally now. Although I suppose a couple of them play in my hometown of Cincinnati. Consider CCM...Mr. Campione is one of my teachers and he is wonderful!

To David - you can get some idea of the quality of students in the composition department by going to a composers concert. I don't think that the competition is less intense than it is for instrumentalists.

I was just looking at US News and World Reports college rankings.
They were listed as the most difficult to get in, only 8% accepted!
The Coast Guard Academy was next at 9%
Hmm.
