 Estate clarinet question
Author: Valerie
Date:   1999-06-22 14:11

I just received a clarinet that I want to recondition. I am curious about it's origin and worth along with it's level consideration (ie. intermediate vs. professional).

It is only marked with the Buffet logo. It is manufactured by Evette & Schaeffer and is also marked Modele Buffet Crampon. The serial number starts with the letter K.

Any ideas about the age, value, and playing level would be appreciated.

No noticeable cracks, but the pads are nasty. The keys appear to be tarnished. Definately wood and seems quite well used.

Thanks again.

Valerie
