 RE: imported conn harmony clarinets?

They were made by Robert Malerne in Paris. Basically good instruments, although hampered by lack of tonehole undercutting, and a single register mechanism which, although it produces a very good throat Bb, results in very poor response and tone on the 'long' clarion B, C, and to some extent C#. I've restored (and modified) four Malerne or Malerne-stencil basses so far, and they've been consistent. Two of mine were labelled Conn, one was labelled Linton, and the other two had Malerne's name on them.
