I was runing through the Daphins et Chole part on Eb and discoved it's a nightmare piece for Eb! Can't imagine how close you HAVE TO HAVE those fingers close to the keys!!!! (no short-cut). Or else, you'll be OUT!! share your experience with me if you're played it on Eb. Thanks!

Daphnis is a challenging piece (or a nightmare?) for all in the woodwinds. However, it is quite fun to play and is very rewarding.
Slow practice -- and even slower!

You should purchase Peter Hadcock's Eb excerpt book (Roncorp Press). He has quite a few helpful hints regarding this piece and many other standard excerpts.

I'll second the vote for Peter Hadcock's book. If you are a serious Eb player, this book is a requirement to own. Use the sponsor link and go to Van Cott music...GBK

y'know, when i had to play this for an audition, the neighbours nearly murdered me, so i ended up driving my car to an isolated parking lot and practising sitting in the passenger seat! i would often end up sitting alone in the car for hours in some "bad part of town" but you know what? no one ever tried to sell me drugs or rob me. The E flat clarinet as a defensive weapon! every family should own one, put the NRA out of business.

Peter Hadcock had an article in The Clarinet (Winter 1982) in which he told of alterations he made to the Eb to accomodate his fingers.
