I am a starting band member and I am having trouble closing the right holes on the clarinet. I know that 'G' is all open and 'F' is your thumb in the back of the instrument. Can some one e-mail me a diagram of what holes to closeto get the right note. It can also be a website link or just plain text, anything, help!

Look at www.google.com. If you search with 'clarinet fingering chart' you'll find a couple of sites where you can find information.
Have fun!

Explore this site. There's one right here on sneezy.
Better yet, go buy a beginning clarinet method book. You not only get a basic fingering chart but also material to work on to develop your technique.

Hey Joel,
Been there, too.
There is a really useful, clear fold-out guide from Amsco publications for $3.95.
Buy it, keep it next to your music stand.
I'm approaching two years of steady playing, and still refer to it.
(Tricky high notes, donchaknow.)
You COULD keep logging onto this page for instructions, buy that is a slow method. SOMEtimes, paper is best as a storage medium.
Just the facts, Ma'am;
http://www.sneezy.org/clarinet/Study/FingeringCharts/bbfinger.html
This is the excellent guide, provided to you by the generous Sneezers.
For advanced study;
http://www.metronet.com/~drjoe/clarinet.html
One more thing, go take a couple lessons they will really help!
(and keep music majors off the streets, too).
