i am a complete clarinet freak, as all of my friends tell me (i start playing before class starts, and actually use the fifteen minute break between classes for clarinet!) and i am a unior this year, meaning that i am considering colleges. i want to go to a college that has both good majors in physics and music...i am thinking about reed, but i have not heard anything about how good it is with music. also, i think that i might be good enough that i could possibly get a scholarship in music ( of course upgrading from my original intention of minoring in music to majoring in music), and i was wondering whether reed might do something like that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you looking? If you're willing to go east I can tell you what I've found out so far (I'm also a junior but I live in New York).

I'm from California, so I'm somewhat biased, but USC is very much worth looking into for both majors, although, for clarinet at least, scholarships are very competitive. Also, Univ. of Michigan, good for both.

University of Michigan and University of North Texas are both really good music colleges.

Indiana University in Bloomington is really good for both music and physics.
