 What's a spoiler on a MP?

I can't see by the picture what a spoiler is...

If it's a Runyon sax mouthpiece you're referring to (sorry, I can't open the link to eBay at the moment), then it's a removable baffle plate to allow varying the "brightness" of the mouthpiece. For me, however, a 'mouthpiece spoiler' is a bad ligature or lousy reed!
