I am interested in upgrading barrels on Selmer Signet Special and Signet Soloist clarinets. Intonation is fine, but am looking to achieve a slightly more interesting and colorful sound. I have nicer clarinets, but would like to maximize the potential of these. What are the proven barrel upgrades?

I like using a R13 Prestige barrel on a "regular" R13. I feel the tone improves without significantly altering the intonation.
You may want to try one of the barres from Selmer Paris clarinet(s), however I do not know if there is a Semer Paris model with the same or similar bore design to the Signet/Soloist.

If it's a .577" bore, then try any Selmer Paris barrel from the Series 10 onwards.
