lol. I was going to start a new thread, but I see this one has already been resurrected... so I'll join in.

My current main mouthpiece is a Backun CG crystal mouthpiece (you know... the really pretty pink/blue one! Pomarico now calls it the "wizard"). I use legere europoean 2.75 reeds.

I have been wanting a good backup for that CG crystal as crystal doesn't bounce. And in the past 20 years, I've destroyed 3 former crystal mouthpieces from poor handling. But everything I was trying just wasn't working with my preferred choice of reeds. Tried various vandorens, various d'addarios, some jody jazz clarinet mouthpieces, nothing seemed to work.

So I went to a store in Tokyo (I'm currently living in Japan), and told them the specs of my crystal, and asked if they could recommend some with similar tip openings.

After trying six different mouthpieces, I settled on the Gleichweit B 9-2. It has a 24mm table length, and a tip opening of 1.25mm. It plays very well and I'm happy to have found it.

Well folks, no longer is it the case that a "plastic" mouthpiece means it's for beginners. This mouthpiece is very good and fits very well with me. Just wanted to give this company a shout-out!
