Never have. Never will.

Sixty-three years of playing, but never a crack in any of the dozens of instruments I've owned, and made of various woods.

I don't want to subject my instruments to humidity shock if I take them out of a humidified case in a dry environment and vs. vrs.

The only reason why I would ever humidify a case would be if my clarinets had skin pads that dry out with not enough humidity in a very arid environment. Then I might humidify just a bit.

Of course, humidifying too much might encourage mold, which I suspect (though don't know for sure) happens frequently when humidification is overdone, as it probably usually is.

(Figured I'd chime in once again on this perennial topic. Waiting for the next "What's the best cork grease" post.)
