As I understand it, when Selmer came out with the Recital, they also came out with the C85 mouthpiece which matches it well (resistant clarinet, free-blowing MP).

The 10G on the other hand was influenced by Moenning, Gigliotti, and Ralph Morgan, who began to work on individual instruments. Morgan mouthpiece designs are quite specific and different from Vandoren and other mainstream designs. So it's probably not surprising that if people try a 10G with a modern MP such as a BD5, they are very under-whelmed to say the least.
