A few days ago I had written about how I felt that a faster tongue might come from a more relaxed throat and how, IMHO, literally wrapping the throat help me achieve the relaxed sensation I wished to convey---almost like a feeling associated with consciously suppressing the gag reflex.
At that time I cited superstar and up and coming clarinetist Eric Abramovitz's use of some sort of wrap around his neck in these videos as a visual example only, having no idea if this was nothing more than a fashion statement.

When the same gear turned up in these videos, and Eric expressly wasn't wearing it when not playing, I got to think that this is clarinet related.

Does any know Eric and/or what his intent with this neck wrap is?
Thanks.
Edit: oops, on a better search I see this came up before, but connection to play wasn't confirmed let alone purpose.....
