Ralph, I just found this (believe it or not) by searching "how to build a 3 clarinet holding case".

The author suggests separate styrofoam blocks, however, another method would be to use one large styrofoam block and carefully cutting out the various sections to hold the clarinet parts. I would then suggest putting some kind of flannel over the cut outs for cushioning protection.

I'm just mentally designing here...perhaps the individual blocks might be better with a solid sheet of styrofoam on the bottom and top, again with flannel in between.

Actually, each clarinet part could be individually wrapped in flannel.

I'm sure you'll figure it out.
