Hi All! It has been quite a while since I have posted on the Bboard, but I am once again, seeking advice lol! Currently, I am half way through my junior year of high school, so the visiting of schools and scheduling lessons over this next spring semester is coming very very soon. I have been trying to narrow a college list but I find so many cons with each school and also many pros, which I guess ever school will have. I have 6 schools in mind, which I’m not sure if that is too many or not. There’s also this feeling of wanting to do performance/education but that usually requires a 5th year, and honestly finances are a big issue right now. Out of state schools seem almost impossible to pay for (60-70k a year. Yikes) I am in Ohio, so Ohio as you may know does have good options (Such as Baldwin Wallace, CCM, Ohio state etc). I was just wondering when starting audition rep is suitable, would it be May? Or should I wait till September? Perseverating over school choice is such a stressor for me, and I don’t want to audition for schools that I know I can’t afford. I would love to have the option to attend Eastman, or Michigan State or U of M; but I simply can’t afford those. I just don’t know what to do, and it’s just becoming a lot to handle mentally with all the stressors.
