So much here about the S1...I haven't much more to add, just grateful to have any decent Buffet at this stage of life...and now a 1919-vintage Buffet in the key of "A"...memories of orchestra days gone by...sorry no low C Selmer 33 I played in Rome in 2005, so this will have to do...three years ago I had the money to by an 1193 or 67 but a gambling therapist talked me out of it...so I gambled that and 10 times that amount away, now almost a year from gambling addiction, at 58, here I am with a beloved S1 thanks to saxquest and a guy who repaired it in Morro Bay, California...$1000 total invested in the S1. The old A cost me $500.

I made a short solo on the S1 yesteday as part of a long winded 18 minute diatribe..if you can deal with my babbling, you will hear my S1 on "For Shawn and y'all in Oregon" on my Barnett Plisko youtube channel. I hope this is not inappropriate self-promotion. Just a listen to what an old guy who hasn't played clarinet lately much sounds like on a 1970s vintage S1 with a 88 B45 mouthpiece and a synthetic German-made reed.
