It's not a new thing in the bassoon world to have ebonite or resin lined descending bores (necessary with maple instruments) and oboes with partial or fully lined top joint bores (or resin lined upper and lower joint bores as Schreiber have been doing on their student model oboes for decades), but clarinets are relative latecomers to this feature.
Selmer had been using ebonite lined barrels on their 10G clarinets. I don't know if any of their other models had that feature until this current model.
