Michele: Neuranter in France sells fine quality cane. 5 years old? That I don't know. It's the only French clarinet reed-maker that I know that sells cane (maybe Rigotti does too; but only in large quantities as far as I know.) Chuck Olivieri used to use Australian cane (not from Reeds Australia). His reeds were irregular-a little on the crude side sometimes- but the cane was out of this world and lasted forever. I was never able to find out what his source was; he kept it a secret
