Today I got a package in the mail- an old Gigliotti mouthpiece that Nathan Beaty refaced to number/specs I sent him. He wasn't too happy with my numbers (and we both understand that there are so many factors of design involved that one facing may work well with one blank, but have a bad result with another) but at my insistence he stuck with a facing that matched my favourite mouthpiece.
It plays very well, and his craftsmanship is of excellent quality - definitely a mouthpiece I'll be hanging on to (it's one of the "A=442" blanks, so quite useful as winter is coming here- tend to have annoying low room temperature in rehearsal venues). I've got an A clarinet that plays quite flat (so I use a 63mm barrel) and a Mozart Quintet coming up - this mouthpiece should turn out quite useful!
Nice work Nathan!
