Dear Paul,

Walter's approach might do the trick. But on the other hand, selecting a mouth piece is not easy. Resolving the flat problem is one thing, but the mouth piece also has to fit other criteria which I personally have found in the Vandoren 5JB.

I started playing the tenor saxophone with a new saxophone just 9 years ago having had a loong break, and I almost got lost in all the options of mouth pieces regarding brands and specs. You can easily become a mouth piece junkie! I used the Legere Signature for my saxophone, and it worked great. However the clarinet Legere did not work for me before the European cut hit the market. It was nice, but unfortunately making my clarinet too flat which started this thread.
I will never return to cane reeds!
