Never saw one of these in the flesh/wood)...
I just got one for repair here. The barrel is a plain cylinder (15.03mm) with a flare at the top (to 15.10mm)..
UJ
Top: 14.96mm
Bottom: 14.99mm
LJ
Top: 14.93
It had a superficial crack (not through to the bore) that ran from the top of the LJ down through the top tonehole obliquely such that it lifted a chip up from the sealing crown of the tonehole. I seeped cyanoacrylate glue into the crack and pressed the chip down and held it...all seems tight. It has old crackly skin pads, but customer doesn't really want to invest. Did some quick fixes to get it playing top to bottom, but has loose keywork and some small leaks from cracks in the pads. Plays surprisingly well, but intonation is not great. It has a 63.5mm barrel and plays pretty sharp.
