Using a gig bag for a mechanism as complicated as is on a contra is asking for trouble. I wouldn't do it, but if you're willing to take your chances, go for it.

If I were looking for contra case, I'd look at some of the hard shell cases used for rifles and electronic equipment, cutting the foam inserts out for your particular instrument.
