Whatever the other virtues/weaknesses of the Playnick mouthpieces, one thing he certainly has got right is an excellent relationship between the facing curve and the curve/shape of the baffle. This is a factor that tends to be a little hit or miss with most "handcrafted" mouthpieces (even from some respected makers) but Kuchmeier has an almost scientific formula and approach here that produces excellent results, and is probably more influential on the tone and response that the comparitive length of the facing.
