For me it helps to look at the page and "see" the names of the notes going by rather than fingerings.
As far as rhythms when you sight read, I'd just say have an idea how that rhythm sounds before you play it (such as 6/8 being two beats of "triplets" per bar) at the tempo designated (have some idea what 60 beats per minute is: equal one second, vs. say 120 beats per minute: a standard march).
The Bona "Rhythmic Articulation" is great; highly recommended!
