If you feel like trying something different, Steuer Exclusive strength 3 hits that sweet spot in between Vandoren Traditional 3's and 3.5's for me, a little closer to 3.5. I switched to Steuer from Vandoren several years ago and I've been so much happier since.

They are available from Innoldey in New York and can be ordered online from their website. Their consistency and durability is much higher than Vandorens so they are also a better value for me as well.
