The Imperial is a professional level clarinet with a larger than average center bore. It is popular in some jazz circles. Locally there is a good demand for it and other large bore Boosey clarinets. Only you will know if it is good for you or if it will either please or annoy your peers. How good it is as a member of the clarinet family is dependant on the preferences and biases of the critic offering an opinion. I have a bias in favor of things British so I hope to acquire one someday. Good or bad if I find one I will squeeze the best I can from it. Others with a bias for other brands and national origins may despise it regardless of how good it is. Play ability is dependant on many factors including how much was it used, how was it handled or stored and when was it last overhauled.
