Hey folks, I was invited to the American Single Reed Summit.
Don't want to sound naive, but I've never heard of it. I guess 500 to 600 people will be attending. However, I am very interested in supporting this program and helping players with the continuing difficulty with the fine art of adjusting reeds. This can be a powerful workshop. It's in October.
Has anyone gone to it? What's it like? I was asked to be a vender plus perhaps give a Master Class on reeds. Such as adjusting reeds, studies of cane, fiber structure all of that. What makes a great reed and a bad reed. I have such an extreme knowledge of reeds. I even have microscopic images of the cells and cell walls of bad reeds and good reeds which I photographed myself at Caltech.
If anyone has gone to this what is it like? Any info would be great. Mostly college students? Pros too? any high schoolers? Lots of concerts?
Cheers! and thanks!
