I need to buy another box of Aria reeds for me this summer as I have a heavier than normal playing schedule and want to make sure I have really good reeds for a couple of concerts late summer. I also may need to buy a box for my son later this summer in a different strength. Since I am already looking at buying two I checked out the 5-box special, which would save about $20 long term.
My question is it is summer and we don't always keep our house air conditioned. unless it is extremely hot and humid (I'm in Maryland) we often don't run it in the house, which means there are wide temperature and humidity variations. The Arias just come in a cardboard box with cardboard holders, not sealed in any way. Is there any problem with keeping three or four boxes like this for a year or more then using them as I need them? Could it harm their playability in any way? Because if so, it's not worth it.
