I think you will find that the "K" prefix is not a date indicator but just identifies that the clarinet serial number belongs to the E&S sequence and not the Buffet serial sequence.
This tradition continued when these E&S models morphed into the Buffet E13 which again always has a "K" pre-fix whilst their Pro models are purely numeric.
Note this is quite diferent to the Selmer lists when the alpha prefix did indicate the period of manufacture.
