I am looking for the conductor's score for both The Teddy Bears Picnic )arr. by W. C. O'Hare) and Oh Johnny, Oh Johnny, Oh! (A. Olman & Ed Rose). Oh Johnny was copyrighted in 1917 and I've had NO luck finding any band scores. I've only been able to find sheet music for piano and vocal. Teddy Bears has a large "556" to the left of the opening line in each of the separate parts but there appears to be no conductor's score. Was it typical in the early years of the century to have the solo trumpet part (or 1st trumpet) also serve as the conductor's score? Barnhouse has a set of Teddy Bear's but when I look at the instrumentation, it DOES show trumpet and conductor on the same piece of music. Thanks folks! Any idea what the 556 might stand for?
