I have been playing an R-13 for many years. I have a trial E-13 in my possession right now, and I cannot tell the difference. I even took both clarinets to my school's physics lab to weigh them. They are nearly identical. The keywork appears to be the same. They both have undercut tone tone holes. The Grenadilla wood is similar. I read somewhere that the E-13 is an R-13 that for some cosmetic reason didn't make the cut. I don't know for sure, but I really like the E-13.
