I had a difficult time finding a case for my clarinet, a 60s vintage Selmer Paris. The BAM case is molded around a new style Buffet so the joint lengths were different. I also considered a DEG but was told they are no longer made as well as they used to be and they are impossible to find. A friend with the same clarinet has one but he had to fit a dowel into one of the joints to make it sit in the case without rattling. I ended up buying a Pelican 1555 case which was the exact dimensions of my original case. I used the "pick n' pluck" foam temporarily while I had some custom foam cut which was expensive but ultimately less than a BAM case ($200, medical grade closed cell foam). They happened to send me two sets of the foam if you are interested in going that route and I'm interested in selling the extra foam since I only need one clarinet case. Something to think about. I could take and upload a pic if you're interested. Ultimately, a bit bulky but the most protective of all the cases!

Another idea since you mention liking a gig bag is the Altieri bag. A friend of mine uses one and if you want light and portable, don't travel via airline with the instrument and are careful it is universal fit and well made.
